3-Antrocoanal Nasal Polyps
4-Benign Intra Nasal Mass
5-Malignant Intra Nasal Mass
Chronic Sinositis is a long-lasting sinus inflammation and infection. It can linger over a period of time ,typically longer than 12 weeks. The sinuses are 4 (maxillary, ethmoidal, sphenoid, frontal) or more paired of cavities in the bony skeletal of the head. These spaces are connected by narrow channels.
The sinuses can become infected when they are blocked and filled with fluid, this is called Sinositis.
Most common symptoms include :head ache , face fullness, post nasal drip, tooth ache,....
Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) is done by Dr.Ali Meighani (Otolaryngologist).
Antrocoanal polyps are solitary sinonasal polyps that arise within the maxillary sinus they passes the nasopharynx through the ostium and posterior nasal cavity, enlarging the latter two.
It represent only 5% of sinonasal polyps . They are most commonly seen in young adults in their 3td to 5th decades .
The most common symptom is nasal obstruction .
Classic treatment is intra nasal polypectomy during functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS).
Dr.Ali Meighani otolaryngologist is able to do it perfectly.
A non-cancerous (benign) tumors of nasal cavity or paranasal sinuses is a growth that does not spread (metastasized) to other parts of the face or body.
These tumors are not usually life-treatening , and they are typically removed with surgery.
The symptoms may include:
blocked sinus , headache , pain , runny nose ....
Some of the benign sinus tumors are :inverted papillon, haemangioma ,osteoma ,angiofibroma.
The best treatment for these tumors is functional, endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS ) by Dr.Ali Meighani otolaryngologist .
Nasal cavity and paranasal sinus cancer are malignant tumors. They are two of the major types of cancer that develop in the head and neck region. Also paranasal sinus cancer are develop in any of the sinuses , it usually begins in maxillary sinus.
The most common symptoms are:
.nosebleeds
.headache
.runny nose
.a persistant blocked nose which usually only affects one side
Nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses tumors can often be cured espicially if found early.
Approximately 60 percent of sinonasal malignanncies
occur in maxillary sinus and 30 percent occur in the nasal cavity itself.
Therapy of these cancers is often multimodal. Radiation therapy, surgery (FESS) and chemotherapy are usually administered in combination.
